The restaurant/pub must serve a variety of game in season. There should be dishes that showcase the variety and versatility of game meat. They will also actively promote game dishes, for instance through Great British Game Week, a game menu, and pictures on their website/social media.
For this category online nominations are collated and the top 10 go forward for online public voting. Nominees are actively encouraged to publicise their nomination to appeal for votes from the general public through whatever marketing tools they have available.
The three nominees with the most votes will go through to a final judging process by a mystery shopper visit, scored against a set criteria

We have cultivated robust partnerships with local farmers to guarantee the utmost freshness and quality of our products. Our meats are sourced from nearby farms, ensuring minimal transportation time and optimal freshness. Our dairy products are proudly provided by Dales Dairy, known for their high standards and exceptional quality. Additionally, we utilise produce from local allotments, allowing us to offer seasonal fruits and vegetables that are both fresh and sustainably grown.
Looking towards the future, we are excited to announce the installation of solar panels, which will enable us to generate 30% of our electricity needs. This initiative reflects our commitment to sustainability and reducing our environmental footprint, while continuing to provide our customers with the finest local products.
Global product sourcing and a lack of seasonal awareness are contributing to the degradation of our planet.
At Clarendon, we are committed to making a positive impact through sustainable practices. Over the past five years, we have made significant strides by sourcing 80% of our menu ingredients from within a four-mile radius. This initiative has not only reduced our carbon footprint but also allowed us to offer unique, local, and seasonal dishes that celebrate the best of our region's produce.
In our efforts to minimize environmental impact, we have completely eliminated the use of plastic and polystyrene. Additionally, we have transitioned to refillable toiletries and have automated our lighting systems to further conserve energy.
While we are proud of the progress we have made, we recognise that there is always more to be done. We remain dedicated to continuous improvement and to implementing innovative solutions that promote sustainability.
